February is here and we are one more week closer to the start of the golf season. I am excited to announce that the "NEW" scorecards are a big hit and I am so happy to see how many members are taking advantage of the combo tees. We are having foursomes go out with three different sets of tees being used in the same group. The main goal with the combo tees is to make golf more enjoyable! It is the last day of the month and today might be the best day of January! Once again we are allowing CARTS OFF THE PATH TODAY! With possible rain moving in tomorrow don't let today go by without playing some golf. The rest of the week looks to continue the warm trend with highs in the 60's all week! This has been the best winter!

Thank You GCC members! What a great first week to 2012. We had 300 rounds last week. I know I had fun enjoying the nice weather and I hope y'all did as well. Just think with every day that passes we are closer to March 1 and the first day of the 2012 golf season.
Currently the golf course is open and the rain is staying away. Yeah. We are still off the path!
Cold weather is coming though and because of it we will be covering the greens and be closed on Thursday and Friday. With the closing of the golf course the entire club will be closed on Thursday and Friday. We are hopeful that the golf course will reopen on Saturday. We will continue to watch the weather and inform the membership accordingly.

Happy New Year! This is the first Get with the "Pro"gram of 2012! It has been fun this week doing all the firsts. It is funny how it is just another day but it feels like a new beginning. 2012 is going to be a great year!
2012 started out with a bang with 31 players playing on Sunday! This was the first time we have had golfers on New Year's Day and it was a lot of fun. We had a Closest to the flag contest and Pat Beattie (#3) John Sandor (#8) Len Lewin (#12) & Steve Wilensky (#17) were all winners. Congratulations!
Currently the grill is closed for Spring Cleaning and needed upgrades but the golf course will remain open weather permitting. The grill will reopen on January 17th. During those two weeks when the golf course is open there will be a bartender downstairs to serve drinks, premade sandwiches, hot dogs, & soup. If the weather keeps us from opening the golf course then the clubhouse will be totally closed.
This week and next I will be working on finalizing the 2012 schedule and when complete I will post it on the website. I look forward to seeing everyone this week with the weather looking Fantastic. They are saying it will be 64 Friday! A member just called and said "I like this global warming"! I like it too!

9:30 am Shotgun on New Year's Day! Golf Only! GCC will remain closed on January 1 & 2, 2012!
I have good news for all the GCC golfers! As you know GCC is closed on New Year’s Day as we are every year but with the nice weather that is forecasted I have decided to open the golf course and have a 9:30 am shotgun for anyone interested. The clubhouse will remain closed with the golf shop and locker room only being open from 8:30 – 9:30 am & 1:30 – 2:30 pm for the members that choose to play. The driving range will only be open from 8:30 – 9:30 am for members to warm up. The Food and Beverage operation will remain closed all day so members will not be able to get any beverages or food items.
If anyone is interested in playing please call or email me your groups before 10 am on Saturday so I can properly stage the carts. This will ensure that everything runs very smoothly on Sunday morning.
I am excited to be able to offer this opportunity to the members and as everyone knows I always want to take care of my beloved members!

Another Christmas has come and gone and I hope everyone had a great weekend! My family and I had a great Christmas! Santa visited our house and kids were so excited. Our family has joined the 21st century finally receiving a WII. Jace, Ella and I are quickly becoming masters at Super Mario Brothers & Smurf Dance Party. Next is Tiger Woods golf! Fun stuff! I am excited to hear from all the members this week on their exciting Christmas'!
This is the last Get with the "Pro"gram of the year! Wow! 2012 is so close and I am so excited about what a great year 2012 is going to be. But before we ring in the New Year we have a great week ahead of us. After today temperatures will be in the 50's and even the 60's! Friday and Saturday will be the best two days of the week with the highs forecasted to reach the mid 60's and SUNNY! We will be open both of those days and closed Sunday and Monday! I hope everyone gets a chance to end 2011 with a round of golf!
On Saturday evening I have the perfect place for you to enjoy your last meal of 2011 and it is at GCC! Chef Ronnie has a delicious New Year's Eve menu for the members to enjoy and GCC is the perfect place to come because you will not have to fight the crowds! Also you can be around friendly faces. Call 754-7241 to make reservations!
Don't forget that starting on the 3rd of January the food operation will be closed for two weeks. The golf course will remain open and we will keep a bartender downstairs for drinks and pre-made sandwiches for the members at the turn. We are going to use these two weeks to spring clean the kitchens and do some updating to the club. Exciting times at GCC!

If you did not come to the Open House Sunday you missed out on a great party! Thanks to Chef Ronnie and staff for a great display of food. My favorite was the rack of lamb! Yum! Also it was so much fun acting like Santa Claus when I gave away the $2,180 in gift cards. Yes you read that right $2,180! It is hard to believe it is Christmas on Sunday. I just spent the last two days with my wife getting the house ready for my parents to arrive tomorrow and now I can honestly say I am ready for Christmas to get here! The kids are so excited for Santa to arrive! I hope the entire membership has a great week and a safe Christmas. Casey and I will be here until Friday and we have plenty of wrapping paper left to wrap those last minute presents. The golf shop closes everyday at 5 pm until Friday and the club will be closed Saturday - Monday.
Currently the golf course is open and with temperatures nearing 60 this is a great day to play golf!
