I have to say, this is my favorite time of the year. My two boys are finishing up their football seasons which means we get to head to the woods and soon the duck blind.
It's official the leaves are coming down by the second. We will do our best to keep the golf course clean by blowing and mulching leaves. We aplogize, last week we were down to one blower which is now up and going.
The weekly rains have help keep our warm season turf healthy before going into the winter. This will help us in having a lush golf course next spring. Last fall, the drought kept us behind for most of the summer in a lot of areas without irrigation.
Lastly, to make sure everyone is aware our new TifEagle greens are no different than what we've had before as it pertains to covering for the winter. We will cover greens based on low temperatures of 28 degrees or less in most cases. This will also be dependant on daily high temperatures as well. So, just assume we will be operating our green covers as in years past.
Green speeds today: 10.5" We are just blowing off greens and are now officially at our winter height. This means: greens will only get faster as they become more dormant. This weekend greens should be near 11.5" on the stimpmeter. Thank you.
