Golf Course Update!

Old man winter continues to bring cold weather to Memphis and with lows still in the 20's (If we are lucky) and highs not escaping the 30's we will unfortunately have to keep the greens covered and the golf course closed for the weekend.  We will make a decision on Tuesday with our plan for next week.

On the bright side we are finishing up our cleaning and painting projects in the clubhouse and will be ready to reopen on Tuesday, January 13th and resume our normal operating hours.  On Tuesday members can once again enjoy eating at GCC!  Also we will reopen the golf shop with normal hours which means even when the golf course is closed members are welcome to still use the driving range.  Finally if anyone needs some warm clothing to combat these cold days we have a Winter Sale underway where all clothing is 20-50% OFF.

We appreciate everyones patience over the past two weeks, we have been working hard to get GCC ready for a great 2015!

Thanks and have a great weekend!

Golf Course Conditions

Upcoming Schedule for the Golf Course

The golf course is back open and will remain open until Sunday afternoon.  We are planning on covering the greens beginning at 2 pm Sunday, 1/4/15 so the latest members can begin an 18 hole round will be at 12:30 pm.  Looking at next weeks temperatures the covers will remain on until at least Friday, 1/9/15.  With that being the case GCC will be closed all week and hopefully reopen on Friday.  Of course we will continue to watch the weather and make any necessary changes to the schedule if the forecast changes.

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Golf Course will Re-Open on Saturday, November 15th

With a favorable forecast for Saturday and Sunday the decision has been made to open all 18 holes on Saturday morning and remain open for the entire weekend.  As soon as the frost lifts we will begin pulling the covers back and open.  If we had to guess that will happen between 9:30 & 10:00 am but that time could be earlier or later.

Thank You and See You Tomorrow!

Best golf since 1970

The Golf Course at Germantown Country Club was designed and built under the supervision of famous golf course designer and architect, J. Press Maxwell, in 1969. The Golf Course was opened along with the other club facilities in July of 1970.

Since the initial inception and construction of the 6,887 yard Championship Golf Course, many additions and changes to the course have taken place. Currently we have TifEagle grass on the greens and 419 Bermuda grass on all the fairways and collars.  Germantown Country Club has the finest putting surface all 12 months of the year of any club in the area.

Germantown Country Club has been selected to host the final Qualifying Rounds for the United States Open Golf Tournament by the USGA on four different occasions. We have also been host to national tournaments for both high school and inter-collegiate golf organizations.

The Club is proud to be a member of the PGA, USGA, TGA and the MGA. These organizations offer tournament competition in which many of our members participate.
